When I drive

I'll sit on a pillow and carry a stick behind my seat

But I'll do it

Near and dear to my heart

I'll spend time with them and let them know I'm never far

We'll watch Jeopardy at 7

And drink root beer floats on the porch

We'll play pokeno at the kitchen table

While never ceasing to remind them that the world is yours.

I'll build a strong tribe

And teach each one how to build their lives

I'll prepare them for the future

And teach them Never Cower, Always Fight

I'll teach them all the thins that you taught me

Like how to shop, save, and buy

I'll teach them everything about organization

For each season and our daily lives

I'll teach them what it means to be family

And how to always look out

I'll teach them that their name is Van Liew

And how to always be proud

I'll keep my head up and remain standing tall

For God Almighty knows best and saves all

He'll keep us in our right mind and give us strength to make it through
